i have made a decision.
i spoke with the admissions director (not sure if that is his actually title because he does much more) from Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts for two hours. Before our conversation i watched all the videos and read all about the school, so i was prepared to join it. Toby, the admissions director, gave me a virtual tour and i was even more excited about going. i am very excited about this culinary school, so excited that i am willing to move back to the U.S. i had never wanted to move back nor had i considered moving back.
The school is located in Boulder, Colorado, which is a happening place in the culinary world. They have received many awards lately. A couple that i know live in the next village, Longmont, so i would have a place to stay in the beginning and i will be able to travel to school easily by the bus.
The school is accredited, so i will apply for a grant, but i am not sure if i will get any help from the government. They seem to need money too. The school is very helpful. i can do a monthly payment plan, so that will be helpful. Also, i will look for a part-time job.
i have set-up a way people can donate money to help me return to the U.S. and possibly go to school. i do not have money for a plane ticket to the U.S., so i need to raise the money for it. The total for the school is $17,388.00 for the pastry program and then for the culinary program it is around $23,000.00, but i will cross that bridge after i complete the first program. i think the pastry program is going to be my main focus, but i would also like to attend the culinary program because it can open more doors for a job after i complete it. Below is the link to donate. Or you can donate it to the school if you prefer (i think it should be okay).
Thank you for all those that support me in my future. If you do not have money to give, please do not worry about it. i know times are tough. i hope you will all follow my adventures because i will have some stories to share.
Here are some photos of Lyon on this sunny Easter Day.
